Dryer repairs


I made an appointment last week to get my gas dryer fixed. I called 800-4-MY-HOME like I did a couple years ago and instead of getting a live person I got an automated system. I had to call back 3 times to get it right but finally got an appointment scheduled. A couple of years ago I needed the dryer fixed and when talking to a live person they offered me a 1 yr deal for a couple hundred dollars to fix anything with the dryer, the automated system did not make the same offer. The technician came out Saturday and "fixed" the dryer for $282.83. I say "fixed" because after he left I tried to use it and the same problem was still there. I called Sears back on Sunday and by pushing 0 many times got away from the computer and to a live person. They said there was no record yet in the computer for my repair and I would have to call back Monday. I called this morning and the live person made an appointment for me for Thursday and then offered me the same deal as a couple of years ago, if I was willing to pay an additional $205 on top of the $283 paid Saturday then I would get any repairs needed done for the next year. For that price of $485 I could have bought a new dryer. When I asked why I didn't get the $200 unlimited repair deal last week they said it was because I did not talk to a real person. Well that was never an option given to me by the computer. That is not fair, neither is not having the dryer fixed.
